staper studio is an independent graphic design studio based in Helsinki, Finland. Founded in 2024, we specializes in producing paper stationery and printed matter, making things that are soft and crispy for your heart. <3
the story of staper begins with our love for papers - the crispness of paper, along with soft colours and soft words - we want to make things that brighten up your everyday space and keep your heart warm and cozy. Therefore we continue to design things on paper, make designs that become colours you can touch, words you can taste, and objects you can savour.
there are always two things that circle staper’s life: drawing and writing. She grew up drawing everywhere: on paper, on school desks, on restaurant napkins; she makes cards for her family and friends since she knows how to scribble, for every holiday, every random occasion. And she loves writing, too, she loves it immensely in every form, in reading, in writing her own stories, to the sound of the pen scratching the paper.
drawing and writing seem to become an inseparable thing for her, the need to just choose one tore her mind. Therefore she decided, every time she draws, she won’t forget to add a bit of words to accompany it, and every time she writes she will add some shapes and colours to it, too.
firstly she started studying how to write, to explore the world and her heart through written words. And then she decided to study design too, so she knows how to put her drawing and writing together, into something visually beautiful and enjoyable. And she gradually realizes she likes things tactile, the digital world has somewhat made everything becoming distant, untouchable, and cold. Therefore she clings to her love for paper and printed things - the warmth and joy that it gives her when designs are on a physical surface.
she is often inspired by the things she sees every day, the stories she reads, people around her, and things she likes. She let her mind wonder and her hands wander, and create whatever that feels good and beautiful at that moment.
so this is how she sees and experiences the world, through words and drawing, she tries to capture the lovely and little things she sees every day, adding a spoonful of fantasy and a poetic touch
to her designs.
